The Sarasota Polo Club offers an outdoor arena polo program which is a great way for new players to learn the game. There are many levels available for your learning experience ranging from individual lessons to arena tournaments. The enclosed arena provides an added sense of comfort for the beginner player. Arena polo makes it easy for everyone to have fun-whether you own horses or not. Anyone who is comfortable riding a horse can learn to play at the Sarasota Polo Club. Whatever your level, lessons can be arranged to fit your schedule and include the use of a polo pony, tack, polo helmet, mallets and balls.
Scott Lancaster, our instructor with over 17 years of experience, runs the arena polo program from January through April at the Club. He uses his own string of specially selected school horses to assure a safe and enjoyable experience. Lessons and arena play continue in the spring and fall under the leadership of local polo player, Jennie Phipps. The Sarasota Polo Club also offers introductory lessons for outdoor grass play.
